A standoff has ended at a Motel 6 in King of Prussia, Montgomery county.

Police say a suspected bank robber surrendered Sunday morning after barricading himself inside a motel room for hours.

SWAT teams and Upper Merion police surrounded the Motel 6 on West Dekalb Pike in Upper Merion township in the overnight hours. The standoff began after an officer spotted a stolen car in the parking lot that had been used in a bank robbery on Friday.

Guests were evacuated from the motel as a precaution. Police negotiated with the suspect for about 5 hours before the man finally surrendered.
