A high speed police chase in South Jersey has landed a police officer in the hospital.
The pursuit ended in a crash near Pine and Cooper streets in Beverly, Burlington County, around 1:45 on Wednesday morning.
The chase started in Edgewater Park.
Police have not said why they started pursuing the suspect.
But that pursuit ended in Beverly where somehow the car being chased managed to ram the police SUV pursuing it.
The collision flipped the police vehicle on its side, trapping an officer inside.
Rescue workers freed the officer and took him to Cooper Medical Center where he is in serious but stable condition.
The suspect remains on the loose.
