Frequent flyer surcharge

Forget FREE frequent flyer tickets. Delta is the latest airline to add surcharges on frequent flyers tickets to help offset soaring fuel costs.

$25 for domestic roundtrips - 50-dollars for international flights.

Changes take effect on SkyMiles award tickets issued starting August 15th.

Delta says if fuel prices come down, it will re-evaluate the surcharge. Delta's announcement comes on the heels of US Airways taking similar action earlier this summer.

Back in June, US Airways announced it would tack on a 25 to 50-dollar processing fee for all award tickets issued on or after August 6th.
