New Jersey has offered Wall Street brokerage Lehman Brothers $20 million of incentives to put 500 jobs in Jersey City. The state Economic Development Authority on Tuesday approve the package to move 400 jobs across the Hudson River from New York City, and to add 100 more.

A message seeking comment from Lehman Brothers was not immediately returned.

The agency says 1,700 Lehman employees already work in New Jersey, including locations in Cranford, Florham Park and Jersey City.
