'French fry grandma' found not guilty

CLEARWATER, Fla. - July 11, 2008 She was arrested for blocking a drive-thru of a McDonald's while she was waiting for a French fry order.

The customer she was holding up at the drive-thru was a police officer at the time. He testified, saying not only was Jean Merola holding up the line, but that she cursed and insulted him.

Afterward, the judge said she may be guilty of being rude to an officer, but he acquitted her of the charges.

The 76-year-old grandmother of 8 shouted for joy.

The defense says this case should have never gone to court!
