A contract with thousands of Philadelphia city workers runs out at midnight.

Philadelphia's contracts with the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employee's District Council 47 and District Council 33 first expired on July first.

D.C. 47 agreed to a two-week extension; D.C. 33 vowed to continue working through negotiations.

D.C. 47 membership has authorized a strike, if an agreement is not reached by midnight tonight.
