Cherry Hill police are calling scrap-metal dealers after a 12-foot bronze race horse was stolen in the last week. The statue was one of a pair that adorned the now-demolished Garden State Park. It was sliced from its base in an undeveloped part of the former racetrack off Route 70.

The statue weighs more than a ton and was valued at $500,000.

Bronze is selling for $1.95 a pound, giving the statue a scrap value of more than $3,900.
