Gunfire kills one, wounds four across region

August 5, 2008 In Chester, Delaware County authorities are investigating a homicide that occured around 7 p.m. in the 200 block of Patterson Avenue. Police say a 29 year old man was shot several times. He was pronounced dead at the scene. No arrests have been made. The victim's name is being withheld until family is notified.

Montgomery County officials are investigating a shooting In Upper Pottsgrove that occured around 5 p.m. in the 800 block of West Poplar Street. Police say one woman was shot in that location. She was taken to Lehigh Valley Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. The suspect was apprehended in Douglass Township and taken to the hospital, possibility the result of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Authorities believe the shooting is domestic-related.

Two more people were shot and wounded in North Philadelphia. It happened just before 5:30 p.m. in the 2100 block of North College Avenue. Details are sketchy, but a man and a teenage girl were shot. The 15-year old girl is in stable condition at Hahnmann University Hospital after being shot in the leg. A 30-year old man was taken to Temple University Hospital in critical condition with a gunshot wound to the chest. No arrests have been made.
