Man charged with firing gun at townhouse

New Castle County police have arrested a Bear area man for allegedly shooting a gun inside a home. According to police, the bullet went into an attached townhouse, narrowly missing a 67-year-old woman. The shooting was reported at the Briargate community off U.S. Route 40.

The woman told police she heard a noise early Sunday morning and found a lamp shade with a bullet hole. A Newark area man visiting her neighbor, 18-year-old Darven Lum, was charged with reckless endangering and weapons offenses.
