Cat rescued from car's engine

PHILADELPHIA - August 14, 2008

Talk about a purring engine. This one really was.

The owner of a black Kia popped the hood and found a cat wedged next to the engine.

The SPCA was called to free the cat. Eventually the SPCA worker got the cat by the scruff of his neck and pulled him out.

Witnesses say the cat ran under the car when it became frightened and got stuck.

The cat was taken to the SPCA to be checked out.
