Coach charged with assaulting player, 8

An assistant pee wee football coach is free on bail today after being charged with assaulting an 8-year-old boy. Police in Winslow Township, Camden County say 31-year-old Kyle Cantz of Hammonton assaulted the youngster who was a player on the opposing team.

Witnesses say that around 5:30 yesterday evening Cantz, coach of the Atco Lions football team, wrestled the Jersey Pines team member to the ground and held him down by the face mask.

Cantz was allegedly upset over a recent play on the field.

Police have charged him with assault and making terroristic threats. He was processed and released on $5,000 bail.
