Car hits house, then backs out and takes off

CINNAMINSON, NEW JERSEY - August 25, 2008

Police have two pieces of evidence that they hope will lead them to the hit-and-run car that slammed into a house in Cinnaminson, New Jersey, then backed out of the house and took off.

Officers found two trim rings from the car that hit the house.

The vehicle rammed the home on the 2600 block of Riverton Road at about 2:15 on Monday morning, and didn't stop until it was right in the middle of the living room.

When it pulled out it left a gaping hole in the home.

One person in the house said he heard a loud boom, then all the lights in the house went out. No one in the home was injured.

Police have questioned witnesses to get a description of the car. So far, they have not said what kind of car hit the house.
