School Dist. scraps Shallcross move

PHILADELPHIA -August 27, 2008 - As Action News first reported Monday night, neighbors in Fox Chase were upset about plans to move Shallcross Alternative School to the site of the old Orleans Technical school on Rhawn Street.

After much protest, the district has decided instead to use the Orleans site to teach 250 children from Carnell Elementary, which is overcrowded.

Shallcross will stay at its current location.
