A federal grand jury has returned a 14-count indictment against him.
Prosecutors say Briggs had an online chat with an undercover FBI agent who was posing as the mother of a 13-year-old girl.
Investigators say Briggs sent the agent a number of child porn pictures and asked to see naked pictures of her child.
