A firefighter was injured while battling an apartment fire in South Philadelphia.
The blaze broke out a little after midnight on Friday in a dwelling at 13th and South streets.
When firefighters arrived they found flames spitting out of the rear deck area. They quickly placed the fire under control.
But one firefighter fell and suffered head, neck and back injuries.
He's at Jefferson University Hospital where there's no word yet on his condition.
Investigators are searching for the cause.
