Student diagnosed with viral meningitis

MOUNT HOLLY, N.J. - September 11, 2008 - Gentile says the district immediately contacted the county health department, and followed all protocols. He adds the child is receiving medical treatment, and is expected to make a full recovery.

Letters were sent home to parents Monday, notifying them of the situation.

Viral meningitis is not considered as serious as bacterial meningitis, which can lead to disability or death if not treated right away.
