New Jersey State Police say a motorcycle, driven by 68-year-old Gerald Baumgarten of Bridgeton, New Jersey, was traveling west on Route 550 when a tree fell onto the roadway.
Baumgarten was unable to stop his motorcycle in time. The motorcycle hit the tree, throwing Baumgarten from the vehicle.
He was flown to Atlanticare Regional Medical Center in critical condition.
New Jersey State Police are investigating.
