Investigators say the bus, which was affiliated with a seniors home, careened out of control, struck four cars, then hit the pedestrian.
According to officials, there were injuries on the bus, but the details of those have not yet been released.
The Ocean County Prosecutor's office has dispatched its vehicular homicide division to the scene.
