Church leader charged with sexual assault

TRENTON, N.J. -September 17, 2008 - Police say 48-year-old Charles B. Brinson, of Florence, was arrested on Saturday while driving a van belonging to his church, the Brinson Memorial Church in Trenton. Investigators add, Brinson uses the title of "bishop."

The arrest warrants were based on the sexual assault of a juvenile that police say Brinson picked up in Philadelphia and transported to his home in Florence, Burlington County. Investigators tell Action News the crime occurred in the first half of 2008.

Brinson is in the Mercer County Jail, charged with felony solicitation and felony contact with a minor.
