The police cruiser was broadsided on the driver's side by the civilian vehicle. As a result of the impact, the police cruiser came to rest on its side.
The injured officer had to be extricated. The officer as well as the civilians were all transported to Cooper University Hospital for treatment.
There is no word yet on the extent of the injuries.
The lights of the police cruiser were on, but it is not certain if the officer was responding to an emergency.
