The employees have been fired for using their cell phone cameras to take photos of patients receiving treatment. And after the pictures were taken, the two then posted the images to a social networking Web site.
An official with the hospital says the photos were mainly close-ups of injuries being treated in the hospital's emergency room over the past few months. The shots ended up being posted on an employee's private MySpace page.
The hospital official says he has never heard of a similar incident, either at his hospital or any other facility. The use of cell phone cameras in hospitals have caused breaches of patient privacy or concern about such violations in California, Arizona and South Dakota in recent years.
