Biden: Bailout should treat public like investors

GREENSBURG, Pa. - September 25, 2008 - Biden spoke to a crowd of about 600 people at Greensburg Salem High School, about 25 miles east of Pittsburgh, on Thursday morning.

The Democratic nominee, Barack Obama, plans to meet with President Bush, Republican nominee John McCain and other congressional leaders about the economic crisis.

Biden, repeating what Obama said earlier this week, says that the American public should be treated like investors so that, when the economy recovers, Wall Street and the government repay the money.

Biden says Obama also will push to ensure the bailout has oversight so that businesses aren't being given "a blank check."
