A Coast Guard helicopter crew spotted Kevin Showell in a marsh near his 14-foot boat in Big Fish Thorofare.
The state police used a boat to recover the 25-year-old. The Coast Guard says he did not require medical treatment.
His family reported him missing late Thursday night.
Weather conditions overnight were poor as a nor'easter buffeted parts of south Jersey with strong winds and heavy rain.
