Can this little piggy stay home?

Local officials at a New Jersey shore town have encountered a piggish problem.

It's called Lucy and it's a potbellied pig that's the pet of 29-year-old Melissa Card, who moved into Atlantic Highlands with her parents six months ago.

The borough's code enforcement officer cited Card in July over the pig and said she had to get rid of it.

Since then, she's brought the problem to the borough council. Public discussions have been held on the issue and it's possible that the council could change existing town ordinances, which only list dogs and cats as domestic animals.

Lucy is a 55-pound 15-month-old who could weigh up to 150 pounds when fully grown. Card says her pig is well-behaved and "quite a character."
