Suspect arrested in 2 year old shooting

PORT RICHMOND - October 16, 2008 On Wednesday, October 15, 2008, detectives from East Detective Special Investigation Division received an anonymous call that led them to the 5500 block of Lansdowne Avenue.

Cornell Prince of the 2100 block of East Auburn was arrested for the double shooting of a 2 year old and her grandmother. This incident occurred at approximately 2:35 PM, on the 3000 block of Tulip Street Wednesday.

At that time, the 2-year-old, and her grandmother were walking southbound on the 3000 block of Tulip Street when they were struck by gunfire.

The 2-year-old sustained gunshot wounds to her right upper thigh area. She was transported to Temple Hospital where she was stabilized and then transported St. Christopher Hospital for Children. The grandmother sustained a gunshot wound to her left foot and was transported to Temple Hospital in stable condition.

Prince is charged with two counts of aggravated assault, possessing an instrument of crime, two counts of simple assault, recklessly endangering another person, and other related offenses.
