Murdered teen's mother speaks out

PHILADELPHIA - October 19, 2008 "If you knew him, you'd love. If you met him, you never forgot him" Vlarita Gordon, Terrance Davis' mother, said.

Terrance's mother says her faith is the only reason she's able to hold it together.

The 18-year-old was shot and killed Friday night.

Police say he was an innocent victim caught in a hail of bullets after several man got into an altercation at an arcade near 40th and Ludlow.

"He received the wound in his right hip and it travelled to his abdomen and they had him in surgery, but they could not remove the bullet before it pierced into the heart," Vlarita said.

Davis' family says he graduated from army boot camp a week before his death. He wanted to go to Temple for its ROTC program.

Now, his family his planning a funeral and hoping Terrance's killer will be caught.

"He doesn't know what he's done to this family," stepfather Kevin Gordon said.

Davis' family says they do not know who the 19-year-old victim is, but he remains in critical condition.
