Foreclosure on a funeral home

PONTIAC, Mich. (AP) - October 24, 2008

Five bodies and the cremated remains of 22 people have been removed from the House of Burns Memorial Chapel, a funeral home in Pontiac.

The owner of the home had been hit with foreclosure. The medical examiner's administrator says he made plans to get the remains after being warned yesterday that a court-ordered eviction would occur after midnight.

They were delivered to the Oakland County medical examiner's office for storage early today. The administrator said some of the cremated remains date to the 1990s.
