202 reopens after crash

WILMINGTON, Del. - October 24, 2008 It happened in the southbound lanes in North Wilmington.

Police say a dump truck, driven by 50-year-old Otto Lawson of Colorm, Delaware was driving alongside a GMC Jimmy driven by 56-year-old Ute Neilsen of Vainbridge, PA.

Police say Neilsen drove the Jimmy into the left lane, and Lawson had to swerve his dump truck to avoid impact. Both drivers lost control, and their vehicles overturned. The dump truck was hauling rocks, which spilled across the road and into the northbound lanes. The Jimmy also ended up in the northbound lanes.

The drivers involved were wearing their seatbelts and injuries were minor.

Nielsen was cited for making an unsafe lane change.

Route 202 was reopened after about three hours.
