TRENTON, N.J. (AP) - October 26, 2008
PSE&G spokesman Claude Sikavi says the utility has restored
power to 57,000 homes so far, mostly in northern New Jersey. He
says the remaining homes should have the power back on by this
evening.
Sikavi says last night's outages were scattered across the
state, with a cluster of 5,000 homes in Hoboken that lost power due
to a transformer problem.
The National Weather Service registered between 1 and 1-1/2
inches of rain in New Jersey overnight. They clocked wind gusts
reaching 25 to 30 miles-per-hour in some areas.
Today's forecast is for a high of 65 degrees.
