CAMDEN, N.J. (AP) - October 27, 2008
Government prosecutors say they will call John Stermel to
testify as the trial enters its second week of testimony. He's the
FBI agent who handled informant Mahmoud Omar during a 16-month
investigation in 2006 and 2007.
Omar himself is to testify next - though that might not begin
until Tuesday.
Defense lawyers say that it was Omar who tried to plot an attack
- not their clients. No attack happened.
The suspects - all foreign-born Muslims in their 20s who spent
years in Cherry Hill - are all charged with conspiracy to kill
military personnel and attempted murder.
