Brits aren't drowning their sorrows in beer

LONDON (AP) - October 28, 2008

The British Beer and Pub Association reports beer sales are falling in the U.K.

Some people had been predicting an increase as the economy soured.

But the latest report shows Brits downed 161 million fewer pints of beer in the third quarter of the year, about a 7 percent decline.

Figures from across the continent also show a general decline in drinking among Europeans.
