Main Line charity sale has great bargains

October 29, 2008

The sale features gently used, and some brand-new, items -- from the kind of women who shop for their clothes in Europe and rarely wear them for more than a single season.

On the shoe rack: like-new Manolo's, Ferragamo's and Prada's -- many for less than $100.

A Ralph Lauren cashmere sweater was priced at $38.

And there are racks and racks of fabulous evening gowns.

A vintage Victoria Royal fur-trimmed silk gown is priced at $260. It originally sold for about $1,500.

High-end tops, suits, jackets, and more are all tagged at a fraction of retail.

A Burberry cape that originally sold for about $2000 dollars is priced at $120.

Among the costume jewelry and other accessories, there's a Coach bag for $66.

And you don't have to feel guilty about shopping... All the money spent at the sale is considered a charitable contribution. This year's charity is the Overbrook School for the Blind.

The sale opens to the public on Thursday, October 30, 2008, at 9:30. There's a $5 donation at the door that day. On Friday, October 31, sale hours are 9:30 - 4:00. And on Saturday, the sale runs from 9:30 to 12 noon. The location is the Village Hall at Spread Eagle Village in Strafford.
