TRENTON, N.J. (AP) - November 1, 2008 About 80,000 customers lost power when heavy, wet snow and high
winds downed wires and poles over a large area of west-central and
northwest New Jersey.
The utility says the last few hundred customers were brought
back online late Friday and early Saturday morning.
Unofficial snowfall totals from the freak October storm ranged
from 14 inches at High Point State Park to nearly 5 inches at
Hackettstown.
Southern portions of the state got heavy rain.
