Elderly man survives 32 hours in woods

TOBYHANNA, Pa. (AP) - November 19, 2008 Charles Harrison of Mount Pocono was conscious and alert when rescuers found him shortly before 2 a.m. Wednesday in the woods of Tobyhanna State Park in the Poconos.

Officials say Harrison's cell phone company aided the search by sending an electronic query to his phone and getting the coordinates of his location. Harrison was unable to call for help because the cell signal was too weak.

Harrison is being treated at a Scranton hospital. Rescuers partly credit his survival to the fact he was dressed warmly. It was 18 degrees when searchers found him.
