Driver killed when rig hits overpass

HOKENDAUQUA, Pa. (AP) - November 19, 2008

Authorities say 42-year-old Michelle Lamaze of Whitehall Township was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash Tuesday. The container fell onto the pavement when the truck struck the Fullerton Avenue overpass on Route 22 in Lehigh County, 50 miles north of Philadelphia. The truck was driven by 29-year-old Robert Kostadinov of Columbus, Ohio. He wasn't injured.

State police say the accident is being investigated and no charges have been filed. Pennsylvania Department of Transportation spokesman Ronald Young Jr. says there was minor damage to the overpass. He says one southbound lane of Fullertown Avenue will be closed until an inspection is completed.
