Agent: Man in Fort Dix case tried to shake agents

CAMDEN, N.J. (AP) - November 26, 2008 An FBI agent yesterday described how Mohamad Shnewer and a man who turned out to be a government informant drove to Fort Dix one day in August 2006 to look around and how later that same day Shnewer drove by himself to Fort Monmouth.

The agent said Shnewer took a circuitous route and at one point stopped and turned around in what could have been an attempt to shake investigators who had him under surveillance.

Later, prosecutors played videos taken from Shnewer's computer that showed attacks against American troops in Iraq and Afghanistan.

The five defendants are all foreign-born Muslims who lived in Cherry Hill, N.J. They were arrested in May of last year.
