Welcoming committee for new dad soldier - Philadelphia News

PHILADELPHIA - November 29, 2008 Moments before Staff Sergeant Christopher Boyer arrived in Philadelphia from Iraq, his wife, Elizabeth and other family members, waited anxiously.

They had their sign ready for the homecoming.

Little Mia and Erin slept unaware of all the excitement.

Boyer has never seen his two month old twins in person.

They were born while serving in Iraq.

"He hasn't done webcam, nothing, just pictures by e-mail and that's it," Elizabeth said.

But before he embraced his two angels, Elizabeth got a warm hug and a kiss.

Then he got to hold one of his daughters for the first time; his wide smile lit up Philadelphia International airport.

"This is unbelievable, little me's. I don't even know what to say, it's crazy," Christopher said.

Sgt. Christopher Boyer will head back to Iraq in a few weeks, but, until then, Boyer will cherish this time with his family.

"This is awesome," Christopher said.
