6 rescued from sinking boat off NJ coast

CAPE MAY, N.J. - November 30, 2008 The call came into the Coast Guard around 8 a.m. from a crewman aboard the Nor' Easter II reporting they were taking on water and needed assistance.

Good Samaritans responding to a Coast Guard broadcast transferred four of the passengers ashore.

A Coast Guard rescue boat arrived on scene and pumped the water off the Nor' Easter II. The rescue crew also repaired the source of the leak.

The rescue boat crew towed the Nor' Easter II and the two crewmen to South Jersey Marina in Cape May.
