But the company did say one reason for the cuts
is a "changing business mix." That refers, at least in part, to
the long-term trend in which customers are abandoning traditional
landline phone service for wireless options or phone service from
the cable company.
Here are the 22 states where AT&T provides local
phone service:
Alabama, Arkansas, California, Connecticut, Illinois, Indiana,
Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Kansas, Michigan,
Mississippi, Missouri, Nevada, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma,
South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas and Wisconsin.
