State game officials say a coyote that tried to enter a Sears store in broad daylight in eastern Pennsylvania has been euthanized. Wildlife Conservation Officer Bradley Kreider says the coyote had massive internal injuries and could have been in pain. He says it looked as though the animal might have been hit by a vehicle.

The coyote was caught Monday afternoon at a Sears Appliance and Hardware Store at Northampton Crossings. The mall is in an area of open spaces and farmland near Nazareth, about 50 miles north of Philadelphia.

The coyote was trapped between two sets of exit doors and subdued with a tranquilizer gun. No injuries are reported.
