4th grader contracts meningitis

PHILADELPHIA - December 10, 2008

The boy is a student a Knapp Elementary school in the North Penn School District. He is currently at Children's Hospital.

The county health department is advising anyone who had close contact with the boy to get preventive antibiotics.

/*Meningococcal*/ infections can cause fever, headaches, a stiff neck, extreme sluggishness, and a rash.
