Teen crashes car during police chase

BUCKINGHAM TOWNSHIP, PENNSYLVANIA - December 11, 2008

The crash happened around 2:30 Thursday morning on Route 202 North near Mill Road in Buckingham Township.

After rounding a curve in the roadway the driver lost control of his vehicle and struck the guard rail. The guard rail traveled into the driver side window and through the floorboard pinning the driver inside.

It took rescue workers two hours to extricate the teen. He was transported to Saint Mary Medical Center and is now facing charges.

A passenger was able to walk away from the crash with minor injuries.

Just before the accident occurred the accident victims were involved in a police pursuit that was called off right before the accident occurred.

Police have not yet said why they were pursuing the car.

The accident is still under investigation.
