83 warrants, 88 arrests, $120K in drugs - Philadelphia News

PHILADELPHIA - December 11, 2008 Of the 88-arrested, 84 were adults and 4 were juveniles.

Police say one arrest was especially troubling because when they executed the warrant on the 1000 block of West Indiana Street, they were confronted by an 11-year-old boy who had packets of heroin on him.

The boy informed police he was being forced to sell the drugs by his 42-year-old mother.

They were two of the 88-arrested.

Police say many of the warrants were served on sites they took down roughly a month ago.

Police once again credited the community for their continued willingness to notify officials about trouble spots.

One police official stated he will urge D.A. Lynne Abraham to seek higher bail on some of the repeat offenders.

Confiscated today was the following: $30,000 worth of heroin, $11,000 dollars worth of crack cocaine, $26,000 worth of cocaine, $27,000 worth of marijuana, $5,000 dollars of pcp, $8,000 worth of assorted pills, 12 weapons, 2 vehicles and $13,600 cash. All totaled $124,757.
