Hazmat situation at Gloucester Twp. home

Gloucester Township police and hazmat crews are investigating a hazmat situation this morning. According to police, an unknown individual entered a residence in the unit block of Spring Valley Road and dumped a "foreign substance" into the home.

No one was at home at the time of the incident, but when the homeowner returned their eyes and mouth began to burn. No one else was injured.

Police are treating the case as an unlawful entry case.

The local fire department and hazmat crews remain on scene. The original call came into police shortly after 8:00 a.m.

Crews are now working to decontaminate the house.
