Dougherty gets 2 years in prison

Philadelphia electrical contractor Donald "Gus" Dougherty Jr. was sented to 24 months in prison Wednesday and ordered to five years of supervisory release after his jail term.Dougherty pleaded guilty in federal court to illegally providing $115,000 worth of free renovations on the South Philadelphia home of labor leader John Dougherty.

The two are not related.

John Dougherty has said he has engaged in no wrongdoing.

Gus Dougherty admitted he never intended to submit a bill for the full $115,000 worth of renovations he performed at a house in South Philadelphia.

Prosecutors say Gus Dougherty did not submit a work invoice to the labor leader until Gus Dougherty found out he was under investigation.

Gus Dougherty is an electrical contractor whose employees are members of the Electricians Union.
