4 displaced when sinkhole damages Pa. home

EASTON, Pa. (AP) - December 30, 2008 Easton Deputy Fire Chief John Price says four people living in the house were evacuated when the upper walls shifted and some windows and doors would no longer open.

Easton Code Administrator Cindy Crowley says the property will have to be inspected by a structural engineer and repaired before it can be occupied again.

Price says firefighters went to the house Monday when a caller told the Northampton County emergency dispatch center the ground in front of the property was sinking and "a lot of water was coming out." He says no injuries were reported.
