New Jersey hearing aid law signed into effect

Acting New Jersey Governor Richard Codey signed Grace's law into effect today. It requires health insurers to cover the cost of hearing aids for kids 15 and younger.The benefit can be capped at $1,000 every 24 months and the estimated cost to the state will be $348,000 per year for the next three years for kids insured by state programs.

The law is named for Grace Gleba, a nine-year-old New Jersey girl who was born with a severe hearing impairment.
