Brother accused of embezzling from Dane Cook

WOBURN, Mass. (AP) - December 31, 2008 Darryl McCauley of Wilmington was arraigned Wednesday at Woburn District Court on charges including forgery. Prosecutors say the 43-year-old stole millions from Cook while working as his manager.

They say McCauley transferred funds from Cook's business accounts to his personal accounts between July 2007 and December 2008. In one instance, investigators said McCauley forged a $3 million check written from Cook's account to himself.

The 36-year-old Cook's comedy album, "Retaliation," went double platinum and he has appeared in several films, including "My Best Friend's Girl."
