Mom IDs Pa. man as robber of 3 banks

UNIONTOWN, Pa. (AP) - January 22, 2009 Police say 40-year-old James Alborg, of Republic, robbed the National City Bank in New Salem Dec. 19, a Parkvale Bank in Uniontown on Dec. 31, and the First National Bank in North Union Township on Tuesday.

State police say Alborg's mother told them her son recently bought a gun and that she had seen him with large amounts of money recently. Alborg's mother says he told her he won the money playing the lottery.

But police say she identified him when they publicized photos from the bank robberies this week. He remains in the Fayette County Jail.
