Boy mauled by pit bull in Wilmington

WILMINGTON, Del. - January 23, 2009 - It happened in the 3900 block of North Market Street at approximately 4:30 p.m. Friday.

Witnesses say the boy was bitten on the face and hands.

The child was transported to Christiana Hospital.

There is no word yet on the severity of the boy's injuries.

The SPCA picked up two pit bulls in the 200 block of West 34th Street. One appeared to be a puppy.
